Participants enjoyed an authentic Los Angeles Gospel music experience with Sean Dancy and Yolanda Harris Dancy, two of the top gospel artists in North America.
Workshop finished with a gospel concert at Foothills Alliance Church.
Sean Dancy (Singer/Songwriter, Recording Artist, Producer)
Sean Dancy was born in Los Angeles, California. He says he “went straight from the hospital to the church house.” His grandmother, Pastor Barbara M. Jones, preached the gospel while his mother stimulated the church with the power of prayer and teaching the word of God. Sean Dancy became musical director/lead vocalist for New Greater Circle Mission in L.A.. He began performing in local churches and gained global recognition for his unique style of musicianship and vocal abilities.
He is a prolific singer/songwriter, pianist, arranger, producer and recording artist. He and his brothers own a production company/recording studio called “db Studios” in Torrance, California. He has played, and recorded with some of the best artists in the entertainment industry.
He has written, arranged, and recorded songs with artists such as Yolanda Adams, Be Be Winans, Michelle Williams of Destiny’s Child, Strate Vocalz, Yolanda Harris, Brandon Kane, Michelle Shocked. While on tour with Be Be Winans, Dancy was deeply moved by the amazing experience of performing in South Africa.
He is founder of the gospel group, the Vision: nine background singers, and a full band. They have a unique alternative edge with a heart to worship and praise.
Sean has collaborated with, and produced albums with, Buster and Shavonie, Ricky Lawson, Damon Elliott, Avila Brothers. He released his own gospel album in June 2010 and aims to create great, legendary music that transcends throughout the world through radio, television, and film.
Yolanda Harris Dancy(Recording Artist, Singer/Songwriter)
In times of trials and tribulations, the sounds of Yolanda Harris Dancy have penetrated the airwaves with a fierce domination. Her music is a testimony of faith and triumph. Raised in L.A., she is now music minister at The New Greater Circle Mission Church. Yolanda has been singing since the age of two. As her career peaked, she sang backup for Ricky Dillard; Dawkins and Dawkins; Gangsta; the Comrads; Debra Cox; Slave Hall of Fame; icSandler.
She was discovered by Stacey O. and Overton C. Wilkins of O Records Inc. who exclaims, ” Yolanda is a breath of fresh air … she has the voice of an angel.” She is currently singing around the world – her first single “For I Know”.
Yolanda performed, at KJLH’s Taste of Soul, with Gospel Legends Bebe Winans, Erica (of Mary Mary), Michele’, Yo Yo, PJ Morton, Sounds of Blackness, and Lenny Williams. The event entertained over 110,000 fans.
